KIA Unveils Production Electric Van PV7: Range of Up to 460 km

KIA has unveiled the production version of its new electric van, the PV7. The commercial EV will be available in cargo and passenger configurations, with a maximum range of up to 460 km.
The KIA PV7 premiered at the IAA Transportation show in Hanover. The new model is the second entry in the brand's electric commercial vehicle lineup, following the KIA PV5. The model's market launch is scheduled for the second half of 2027.
For the Kazakhstan market, the model may be of interest primarily as electric commercial transport for cargo and passenger transportation. Official timelines for the KIA PV7's arrival in Kazakhstan and its possible price have not yet been announced.
KIA PV7 Dimensions
In terms of size, the new electric van is comparable to large commercial models on the European market:
-
length — 5350 mm;
-
width — 1995 mm;
-
height — 1990 mm;
-
wheelbase — 3500 mm.
The KIA PV7's exterior is designed in the same style as the smaller PV5. The vehicle features an angular body, a large windshield, and distinctive LED headlights.
Cargo and Passenger Versions

The KIA PV7 Cargo will be offered with a cargo compartment ranging from 6.1 to 8 cubic meters. Depending on the version, payload capacity will be 1165–1200 kg.
The passenger version, the KIA PV7 Passenger, is designed to seat 7, 9, or 11 people. This variant can be used for passenger transportation, corporate fleets, and commercial transport services.
For Kazakhstan, the cargo version may prove especially interesting: the electric van could become an alternative to traditional diesel commercial vehicles for use in urban conditions.
Interior and Equipment

The KIA PV7's cabin features a digital instrument cluster and an infotainment system with a central touchscreen measuring 12.9 or 14.6 inches.
There are numerous compartments and storage nooks for small items. Depending on the trim level, equipment includes parking sensors, a 360-degree camera system, adaptive cruise control, and modern safety systems.
Electric Motor and Range

The KIA PV7 is equipped with a front-axle electric motor producing 272 hp and a maximum torque of 420 Nm.
Buyers will be offered two battery options:
-
71.5 kWh;
-
96.2 kWh.
The maximum range on a single charge will be up to 460 km.
The electric van supports fast charging at up to 350 kW. Using a compatible charging station, charging the battery to 80% takes about 25 minutes.
KIA PV7 Competitors

In the electric commercial vehicle market, the KIA PV7 will compete with models such as the Ford Transit Custom, Renault Trafic, and Volkswagen Transporter.
The new KIA's main advantages will be its fully electric powertrain, a wide choice of body configurations, and a range of up to 460 km.
At the same time, for Kazakhstan, the availability of fast-charging infrastructure outside major cities will remain an important factor. As a result, at launch the model will most likely appeal primarily to companies and commercial carriers operating mainly in urban cycles.
The KIA PV7 will arrive on the market starting in the second half of 2027. Information about deliveries to Kazakhstan, trim levels, and pricing will be announced later.
